A visit to the stunning Elizabethan Hall which has just reopened to the public. Affectionately referred to as the ‘Downton of the North’ Gawthorpe houses the North West’s largest collection of portraits on loan from the National Portrait Gallery, and a wonderful collection of lace, embroidery and needlework. This should be a great afternoon out to this gem with it’s strong associations with the writings of the Bronte family – and with a steward in every room it should be fascinating. Meet at the Hall at 2pm, or if you need transport please contact Diane at 132. Entry £4, £3 concessions.
