“The film the police arrested!” This year we are showing “Juvenile Liaison”, a film made by Nick Broomfield in 1975 and banned for 15 years. The film follows officers of the Blackburn police juvenile liaison scheme as they set about cautioning children who had committed petty crimes. When the Lancashire police viewed the finished product they were outraged and they put pressure on the British Film Institute for it to be withdrawn. The film is a fascinating and unique social document. Free popcorn. Seating upstairs is limited to the first 40 people only
