The planning application we decided to make to convert the upstairs living accommodation into a number of community rooms was a relatively simple one once the consultations with the community had taken place. It was clear that the community required some space for the various village and community groups to hold their meetings, have a library, provide facilities for walkers, horse riders and dog walkers and just have somewhere quiet to sit and enjoy the stunning views. It was also clear that after years of neglect, the area needed some serious TLC.
Our plans involve a complete new tea / coffee making area, brand new bathroom area with showers, new carpets, complete refurbishment of 2 rooms, new heating, lighting, desks, tables, chairs, sofas, installation of a pool table and darts board, IT and presentation equipment as well as equipment for the younger members of the community.
Main community room
Our first multi functional community room hosted its inaugural event on 24th September 2016 with the sell out performance of Spanish virtuoso guitarist Howard Haigh.
As well as performing arts, our aim is to be able to offer an alternative venue in which to hold network meetings, board meetings, one to one meetings and interviews with full state of the art presentation equipment.
Large meeting room to hold 20 – 30 delegates with full presentation equipment
Small meeting room for 1 – 4 people
Free WiFi is already available to our customers throughout the venue
