Turton Tower. The first of two real treats, it was initially built in the early 15th century as a fortified pele tower. Once described as being built “amongst precipices and wastes” it has been added to and extended through the following centuries and crammed with antiques to become the fascinating building it is today,. We’ll be meeting at the Tower at 2pm, there is an entrance fee of £6 (£5 for concessions), free for children. There’s a Victorian Tea Room too!
