Bill Soljau has kindly offered to give a talk on the early Great Western Railway. The GWR, sometimes called ‘God’s Wonderful Railway’ was founded in 1833 and engineered by the legendary Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It later became known as the ‘Holiday Line’, carrying tourists into the previously difficult to reach West Country and the far South West such as Torquay, Minehead, Newquay and St. Ives. Meet in The Dog at 7.30pm.
